- Hello, could any out there give me some info on M1 carbine's? I'm getting ready to buy a Paratrooper model and would like to know if it is a real Paratrooper. I see real stocks out there for sell and all someone has to do is put it on a gun and up the price and I would have no idea if it's real.
Inland M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine, Cal.30 Carbine SOLD for sale online. Universal M1 Carbine Generations. Changes included a slide lock lever by the rear sight, the trigger housing was made of aluminum, and several safety features were deleted to reduce costs. This resulted in the ability of the rifle to fire out of battery. The highest serial number documented so far is 486xxx. Welcome to USCARBINECAL30M1.com! Inland Paratrooper Serial Numbers
How do I verify the age of my M1 Carbine? It belonged to my friends father who passed. He isn't into firearms so I bought it from him. Its in great condition, no rust, stock looks great (wood). I just don't know anything about this rifle. I you tubed how to disassemble it and gave it a full clean and lube. Its in great condition. My main concern is the age, I want to see what I fell into, and see if I would sell it or keep it. Is there a way to tell by the serial number or something?
ETA: I was doing a little reading.. It doesn't have the push button safety, it has a little lever you pull down and a bayo lug. All Parts seem to be original, considering the fact that everything seems to be 'equally worn/ equally old looking'
Thanks,
Dan
